Habs Season Thread: 2024-25 Regular Season

Apparently Julie and Jeff are none too pleased about the trade, and were caught off guard. They stated that Kent has said he will try to trade him before the beginning of the season, but if not, they are prepared to try and make the best of it in Montreal next season.

Engels on Marinaro’s podcast said he talked to them and no mention of being “none too pleased” - Engels said they understand the business, and are prepared to move to Mtl to play if no deal is made
 
FWIW, DeSmith has been given Jacques Plante’s retired number on the Habs roster….

It appears HuGo are simply f*ckin with everyones heads & having fun doing it…

Just remember, it was Julie Petry who fell in love with Mtl forcing Jeff to forgo UFA not once… but twice. They also sent all their boys to French school / pre-school when they didn’t have to.

The wanting to leave had everything to do with having 4-little boys w a spouse who travelled 50% of the time and being unable to bring over parents from Texas for long stays for support due to Covid.

Not the org, not the city…

They have no right to be pissed off. He has half the NHL on his no-fly list and he forgot to include Montreal. If Julie has a problem with that she should take out her frustration on her husband for not including the Habs on that list.

Besides which, when you play or are married to a person who plays pro sports, getting traded comes with the territory. And when you're on the wrong side of 30 the chances of you being moved on an almost yearly basis increases because that's the nature of the business in a salary cap world. Don't like it? Retire. Otherwise, shut the fuck up and cash your cheques. Without her husband's income, Julie would probably be working the checkout at her local Kroger's. She needs to put some water in her wine.

oh I know why she got choked at our ridiculous rules, hopefully she can regain her love for the city
