Habs Season Thread: 2024-25 Regular Season

One of my first hockey memories was watching the '86 clinching game at my dad's friend's apartment across the street from the Forum (though they won in Calgary)... and getting the f*** out of there right after the final whistle sounded
So you deny being the guy smashing the window of Aldo’s on Ste. Catherine that night?

What was that boutique clothing store at corner of Sté.Catherine & Bishops? (Northeastern corner down the street from where Upstairs originally was)

I remember we were on top of the church across the street and some guy literally was wheeling out an entire rack of clothes without any care in the world.

That boutique clothing store on the northeast corner of Ste. Cath and Bishop called "Splash" was cleaned out in about 3 minutes after the glass got smashed. And when rioters realized that the cops were MIA they took their time and actually tried stuff on before stealing it. There was also a bunch of scaffolding up in front of some shops at the south west corner of Ste. Cath and Crescent that people used to build a bonfire in the middle of the intersection. Then when the fire truck showed up, they looted that too.

Thoughts on Zegras rumors?? Should we make a move to get him? I know he’s out of favor right now, which is partially why I’m interested, we definitely could use more skills out front, and it feels like a buy low moment. If interested, what would be your realistic offer?

Xhekaj and the 2 Monahan first?

While I'm not comparing them as players, although their point totals are pretty similar, Suzuki & Zegras slot roughly at the same place on a good team: A #2 center.

I would pass.

Is there a realistic way to get a true bonafide number 1 center? I'd try my luck with 3 top 6 quality centers including Dach and go for depth as our path to the Cup.

By the way, considering no team has won a Cup in my lifetime without a real #1 center, good luck if that's your strategy. Doesn't need to be a high-end, elite center (See St. Louis with Ryan O'Reilly & Brayden Schenn as their 1-2 down the middle), but you need a real #1.

I don't think Dach's a center long term, I think he's a winger. Probably a fringe first line winger, but still. A useful player to have.
