Habs Season Thread: 2024-25 Regular Season

we will never win it all again, I have come to accept it. At least I can remember 6 championships even if I was very young for four of them. Expos died but I switched before they died to SF Giants so at least I have three from 2010-2014.

Cowboys meh, I remember 4.

As the saying goes, you pick your teams by 11 for the most part and let them ruin your mood for 70 years

You and I with 6 cups is fantastic

Leafs fans on their forum have seem playoff failure and maybe in depends for their next cup

We should be closer to the playoffs in a few years as many teams are in rebuild mode soon or are soon to be

Agreed on the next cup , no bueno for many years

Once you’re actually “in the mix” to contend for the Cup, anything can happen.

Hughes/Gorton/Molson have been working the press in the background. A few days ago, Cuck Wilde was blueskying up a storm that even missing 8 years is "average" for a rebuild. Today Brunet wrote a similar article for LaPresse. How coincidental.

We are being greased that we won't see any meaningful games played in Montreal until 2028
If by "greased" you mean they're telling you the truth then sure.

Your problem is that when the word "rebuild" is mentioned in relation to the Habs, your brain immediately goes to a Bergevin rebuild, which only lasts until the francophone media get fed up and then he gives up and tries to make a wild card spot to save his job.

no one will ever convince me that a rebuild should take 8 years. I get that is the new coping mechanism but ffs, you and I will be in diapers again before we win a playoff game, let alone a cup.

Jr has already figured none of his favourite teams will ever win in his lifetime
Your own fault for making him a Cowboys fan. You could have just as easily watched the Steve Grogan era Patriots on Channel 5 out of Plattsburgh. By now you'd be a lifelong Pats/Brady fan with all the rings. But instead you insisted on watching Channel 3 out of Burlington every Sunday afternoon with its steady diet of NFC East games.

Not like Hughes has a blank cheque from Geoff. He also didn't sign on never to make the post season during his tenure. If we were to miss 3-5 more years, it means he never made the post season before getting canned. Who wants that on the Curriculum Vitae?

and meant I didnt win shit until 2001 (or 24 yrs after starting to watching). NBC also didn't always cover NE in Plattsburgh, often was Jets

A guy who can just go back to being a highly paid player agent wouldn't give a shit. And Gorton will never be out of a job because of the Old Boys Club

Hughes reportedly sold his interest in his business for many, many, many millions of dollars. Aside from some degree of ego gratification, he probably doesn’t give a shit.
