He might be done but . . . if his job really is on the line, than he probably has one more move in him today. The team as currently constituted will likely get smoked by TML in round 1. Anyone can see that, including him.

Bjork is not as bad as Lehkonen, trust me. 62 is KHL fodder.

I don’t think his job is at all on the line, everything taking place has been deliberate, no knee jerk to call up players from Laval, leaving them to develop, no trading of prospects. The Habs D group will be getting overhauled over next couple of years w puck moving prospects.
The goal is to get Suzuki, KK, Romanov and the Hobbit playoff experience

He hasn’t been extended beyond next season, and GM’s don’t work on one year deals, so there’s very good reason to believe his job might be on the line. Not that I expect an irrational move from him . . .

I think his job is on the line but I'm not sure if he's really in danger. The turn around from the end of the 2017-2018 season has been quite remarkable. Of course he was also the one responsible for getting us to that state in the first place.
Let's take a look at the roster from the last game of that season, it's quite ugly. Missing from that game were Weber, Pacioretty, Andrew Shaw and Philip Danault, Hudon, Mete. Backup was Niemi. Our prospect pipeline at the time consisted of Poehling, Mete, Juulsen, Brook, Fleury, Primeau.

Reilly is much better defender, plus unless Mete which was advertised as ''offensive'', he produces way more.

This season yes, but this is Reilly first good season at 27 and he's UFA at the end of the year so they can always resign him if they wanted to. It gives them a chance to try out Mete, who's 22, for the rest of the season. They're not making the playoffs this year so this sort of asset management makes sense for them.
