Hockey Media & Business Thread

That's stupid scouting. I agree with you on most of the tournaments, but of them all I prefer the juniors. Maybe because of the time of year and the raw emotion of the kids. The fast, mistake-filled game that's junior hockey is entertaining in its own way.
Pretty much all of this.

Usually not working over Xmas / nye so lots of time for it

Seravelli's on the right path. The NCAA change has made me re-think my position on the potential hierarchy of Junior leagues across North America, especially with two USHL team (Muskegon and Youngstown) considering going to the OHL.

It might be inevitable, possibly as a way to survive, for the USHL to merge with the CHL and become either the fourth division, or flatly merge into the WHL / OHL.

Yep. From getting a stick in his skull in the minors. Ended his playing career.
iirc it was Talbot who nailed him

true story my dad moved here 3 months before we did in 1980 so a guy took him to a Sabres-Cannots playoff game. Tiger Williams clubbed Bowman on the team and my daid hey he just hit Bowman in the head. old lady in front said he must have deserved it

Bell is going to lay off a whack of people by the end of the next fiscal quarter just like they do every year, right after their annual "pretending to care about mental health" PR fest.

Terrestrial radio is circling the drain and sports on TV is becoming increasingly narrow. People only want to watch their team. They dont gove a shit about other teams and they dont want to pay to watch any team but their own.
