Again, worth repeating, wins are borderline irrelevant in the AHL.

The farm team's there to improve the draft picks that are sent there and hopefully get one or two players promoted as permanent NHLers. If Jean-François Houle can do that, he's doing his job.

I also don't think it's a surprise that the team suddenly got better overnight when they got a big, strong, NHL caliber defenseman to play big minutes for them.
