Leafs to unveil new logo & uniforms for 2017.

Kinda hope they incorporate a tank into the new logo.

Obviously subjective but most of those old logos look like childish hand-drawn crap to me.

I would keep the current one or go in a different direction.

yep, that shield is nice, and it's a design that reads well across a variety of uses and platforms.

The shield would be awkward to use in modern day, but it would be pretty sweet as an arm patch, for example. I'm no Leafs fan, but those 33 and 42 logos are pretty damn sweet. I'd take those ideas, clean them up (I swear that the writing is off-centre on it), and use those.

Just, for the love of hockey, give the fans some input. Keep it out of the hands of the MLSE think-tank. Don't shorten the name to 'The Leafs'. Don't get cute with the modernization of the logo. No f***ing mascots or animals.

I'm not sure that we should be too worried about the organization MLSE'ing this up. After all, there isn't really anyone left in the organization above Shanahan and Lamoriello that has any serious clout left, is there? Richard Peddie is long gone. So is Tim "let's take down all the old pictures and raise a banner for Bon Jovi" Leiweke. Their replacement is an invisible no-name businessman from Air Canada.

Hopefully the final call on this will be left up to genuine hockey guys like Shanahan & Lamoriello.

The one positive is that they probably had a lot of input from Shanny, and Babcock who I can't see wanting to mess too much with the classic. I too think the shield and or a leaf inside the shield would be great on the shoulder and a classic leaf with new writing would be good. Love the lace up front on some of the classics as well.

Every single one of those designs kind of makes me want to throw-up.

The one BKerr posted above is the worst by far though. It looks the bastard child of the Nashville Predators & Winnipeg Jets' jerseys.
