Leafs to unveil new logo & uniforms for 2017.

I have confidence in Lou and Shanny that the new logo and jersey will be classy and not anything outrageous.

I always kind of hated the Ballard Era logo. It's probably why I haven't owned a contemporary Leafs jersey since the mid-90s.

This is a classic franchise. It should have a classic logo. Now, it looks like it will.
 
That's not the 1942/43 logo, nor is it the new logo......it's a mock-up of the new logo that someone created after having seen the new logo.




It's extremely close, but it's not the official logo that will be unveiled on Tuesday.
 
It is just a mock-up, so I'm expecting that the real logo's going to look a lot more crisp. Still, that version of the Leaf is the direction I've always wanted them to go in, so I'm pretty happy with it. Won't take me too long to buy a new jersey.

I'm going to wait until the offseason, but right now the options look like Rielly or one of the Top prospects (Marner/Nylander/2016 First Rounder).

However, Stammer could change everything.
 
If the Leafs sign Stamkos in the same off-season as the introduction of a new, retro-inspired jersey and logo, the volume of jerseys they're going to sell is going to be just obscene.

There is a minor modification to compress the TORONTO into a slightly less exaggerated font, and the bottom stem of the leaf has been slightly widened (from the logo listed above, but in the jersey photo I posted it's the same), but it's identical otherwise.
