Yeah, Toronto was more prepared by pre-emptively denying them from getting their trucks downtown, which means the protesters could never set up a foothold.

Ya I don't think these guys would have a great time in downtown TO. Count protesters from the local population would probably overwhelm them pretty quickly.

It would’ve been kind of interesting to see what would’ve happened if they had set up a foothold.

I don’t think a bunch of rural hillbillies would have had a great time trying to occupy the downtown core of one of North America’s biggest cities. A city which by and large is overwhelmingly hostile to their politics.

Between counter protestors and violent lunatics who’d want to fuck with them just for fun of it and the sheer number of people who live here and wouldn’t be amused by being subjected to their performative assholery, I don’t think it would’ve been quite the fun, festival atmosphere they’re enjoying in Ottawa.
 
Yeah writing has been on the wall for this for months. Before the Omicron wave even started it was always a feeling of "this is the final wave that we're going to treat this as an emergency." But the freedom patriot camo gang will think they accomplished something. And sure, go ahead. You win. Now go home.

I think it’ll just turn into another issue IMO because I’m not sure it was ever really about vaccines.

I mean, I do think these people are sincerely anti-vaccine and feel very strongly about it.

But yeah, even so, that’s not what this temper tantrum or “movement” is about. It’s white supremacist Christian fascists & culture warriors who are terrified about their declining influence & privilege in Western society, and want to do away with democracy before they’re swept into the dustbin of history.
