Its sad but I really think the Conservatives want to do as little as possible to force JT’s hand. Then they can use it as a rallying cry for the next election.

And this new leader of the “Conservatives” is a real peace of work. I do not see them coming back to sanity anytime soon.

They have looked to our neighbours to the south and have decided to get in on the grift.

I’m not up on what legally can be done by government so aside from declaring a state of emergency and sending more cops which supposedly he has done what more can he do?

In fairness municipal police is City level, not Ford. Ottawas mayor is a former Liberal and has had a much softer response than Tory. Looks like the Windsor mayor is a righty too based on his wiki page. Anti homeless, lgbt, and environment.

They requested this Monday although seems to be some sort of dispute between Ottawa and OPP as to how many were sent.

Ottawa police have the authority to issue $1000 fines to illegally parked vehicles.
if your truck has been parked for 17 days, there should be thousands of dollars of fines attached to it already.

Oops. Typo. I mean senior officers in the Ottawa police force. I don’t think the individual officers on the street are being insubordinate—they’re just following orders.

When the weekend ends, there will be a couple hundred protestors again and three combined police forces (OPS, OPP, RCMP) with thousands of officers between them.

There is no excuse not to clear the area entirely, like they did in Windsor.

At the very least, put up barriers so they can go out, but can’t come back in. Cut off fuel re-supply for real. Stop letting DJs, soundstages and hot tubs in. The very least.

The city literally just made a deal for them to be in that area now though. It’s sanctioned now. This seems bizarre to me.
