I live in Ottawa just outside the "occupied" zone, just back from the corner coffee shop and some people were in line without masks (including one with a kid) but left before they could order because their truck was getting towed or something like that

Yeah, even if you’re deluded enough to think you’re a noble freedom fighter in a struggle against tyranny…soldiers don’t bring their kids into battle with them.

After watching 10 minutes of the Global Television feed on YouTube , in my opinion, turning over government powers to the protesters is not the best idea.

its even subtler than that - they bleat "peaceful protest" over and over again as if that's the actual issue, when it's not.

it doesn't matter if the protest is peaceful or not. If you, say, peacefully chain yourself to trees to stop a logging operation, you will be arrested, peaceful or not.

There were people at the Coutts blockade saying on Zello things like “if I’m going out here, my kids are going out with me” and “you can always have more kids, but once Canada is lost you can’t get it back.”

I want to believe some of them are just trolls. But how far is that really from these assholes that are using their children as shields to make a political point?
