The sad truth is that the Liberals have done almost fucking nothing to deserve re election. But Pierre is a fucking disaster waiting to happen. We badly, badly need that to be a minority win and not a majority.

There was a bag full of societal issues already noticeable on the horizon pre pandemic that the Liberals were doing nothing to tackle that have all shown up in force. The TFW program was always shitty and broken in practice and needed major revamping. We needed more tech professionals, engineers, doctors, skilled trades, etc and instead we got a Timmigration wave to provide our service industry corporate overlords with cheap labour forever. We needed a national strategy on managing the cost of post secondary ed and instead got diploma mills providing a work permit express lane. We needed a national housing strategy in 2017-18 and still don't have one in 2024, so now we still need a housing strategy but we're starting at a place where far fewer people can afford housing. Our productivity numbers have been junk, and diverging from peer nations productivity per worker for a decade now, and fucking nothing has been done.

I fucking wish we had a viable alternative that wouldn't just make all of that worse, but do something stupid like blame wokeness and trans people for all of our problems along the way.
 
too much regulation and rent seeking, IMO

we did get engineers to immigrate but they're stuck driving uber cars because boards require them to go through hoops to use their skill

and for crying out loud, Trudeau is another PM that has done almost nothing to improve inter provincial trade barriers

it is actually easier for Canadian companies to do business across international borders than it is within our own country.

That's billions of dollars of lost economic activity. low hanging fruit, IMO

I mean, the fact that they’re deducting an export tax that all Chinese are supposed to pay for exporting pretty much anything from China, but if you export fentanyl precursors or actual meth or even fentanyl itself, you don’t pay the value-added tax. So the Chinese government is underwriting the reverse opium war, and we know that definitively.

The CCP being involved in shipping fentanyl to Mexico for cartel distribution isn't exactly a secret among cartel journalists down there either fwiw.

They're about ~10 years into what will be a multi generational attempt to weaken the west with drug shipments and psy ops (hi Tiktok!).
