I know we have discussed it before but putting this as cyclist vs commuter is dumb.... as dumb as thinking 3 story townhouses for a mil is the answer to our housing issues.

We have done at terrible job at making transit convenient, cost effective and tolerable.

The interesting bit about that graph to me is that transit + walk + cyclist is 2/3rds the commute share but the politics surrounding the issue would make it easily to believe that the inverse is true, that non car dependent commuting is the minority. I agree that cyclist v commuter is dumb. The real issue and appropriate way of framing this is vehicle centric vs human centric infrastructure. You can't build infrastructure appropriately for both people and cars in the same locations.

Nope! You must have me confused with someone else.

And I also have no moral objection to owning big SUV’s or trucks. I just don’t think they should be much of a consideration at all (let alone the most important one) when it comes to the transit and traffic planning of Toronto’s downtown core.

Speculation is Trudeau will step down as leader but stay on as PM and ask Governor General to pirogue parliament until March.
