You know, one aspect of history I always found fascinating was learning how whenever any country gets rolled over and conquered by an aggressive totalitarian neighbour, there are always Quislings at every level of the conquered country’s society.
High level politicians & military, rich people, middle-class people and even all the way down to the poorest who are happy to sell out their country and countrymen for the chance to gather up whatever crumbs the conquerors sweep off their table as they devour what was formerly the sovereign nation these people called home.
The thought experiment that always popped into my mind was—“if this happened today, and to our country—who would our Quislings be? Both among the famous and powerful, and among the regular people I know?”
Lucky me, it feels like I’m finally going to get an answer to that question in the coming years. And two early names on the list are Kevin O’Leary & Count.

Count is the guy who tells you to "just accept it" rather than try to fight against it.
For nearly 3 years he has been telling me that a Russian victory in Ukraine is inevitable and that we should "just accept it" rather than try doing anything to prevent it. Same with Poilievre. We need to just accept that he will be our daddy.
As long as he isnt inconvenienced in any way, and none of his planned vacations aren't disrupted by a pandemic or mask mandates, he's cool with a fascist takeover simply be assuring the rest of us that Trump and Poilievre aren't actually fascists.

I'm voting blue every chance I get. I want changes to how research is funded. NO ONE should have to do an anti racist declaration as part of a science research grant.

You keep pretending that woke is as bad or worse than actual fascism and you're going to discover that it's not even close. You will also find that the culture war is largely fictional but the class war being waged upon us by the billionaire oligarchs is all too real.
And an anti-racism declaration, in addition to not affecting you one iota, is actually a good thing to have. Scientists need to be reminded that the work they do can be corrupted and used for evil if we're not careful. Racism is how things like the Tuskeegee experiments happened, to say nothing of the eugenics movement of the early 20th century.
