338 Sunday Update: The Liberal Surge Continues

Multiple polls confirm dramatic shift in momentum, as Liberals close in on Conservatives.

Long story made short, current seat projections:

CPC: 160
LPC: 139
BQ: 28
NDP: 14
GRN: 2

So a pretty weak CPC minority is the current projection, but the projection still includes a bunch of data from before Trudeau stepping down and still doesn't include Carney as the leader.

Actually given how MAGA many Albertan voters are....perhaps having their "savior" saying PP is a faux MAGA might be a good thing...at least in Alberta. They are a province after all that had a further right provincial party because the Cons weren't right wing enough.

It might lead to PP bleeding a bit of support to the PPC in Alberta, but they're going to win by so much in the middle of the country anyway that it really doesn't matter.

Yeah, this was all pretty obvious at the time. The convoy was a massive astroturfing campaign carried out, supported & funded by the US far right, Russia and a tiny minority of the very worst people in Canada.

And I don’t know if this was planned out as an end goal in advance, but the convoy and the aftermath of it is when I can first recall hearing prominent MAGA mouthpieces (like Rogan & Tucker) pushing the idea that Canadians were being crushed under the heel of a brutal leftist dictatorship and were crying out to be “liberated” by Trump and America.

And that post-convoy rhetoric has pretty directly led to all this current “51st state” and “annexation” talk, IMO.
