New Canadian Politics Thread

Wonder if this is pure cope, or if these asshats are are laying the groundwork to start screeching about a “stolen election” in the event the CPC doesn’t win a plurality of seats.

Maybe they’ll do geographic paint by numbers too - more square kilometres mean we win!! (Except the Ls will win two territories, maybe all three.)

At the same time, it's not particularly surprising to me that the CPC voters are a hell of a lot more passionate than the lib voters this cycle. And the data does show this; many of the lib voters in recent polls are still not fully decided. 9 years of power will always bring out masses on the other side and earn crowd size pointz.

Just like in the US (the first inning has been 9 years right?) with the AOC and Bernie shit and people voting in those elections with typically low turnout. All normal behavior from the opposition supporters.

I hearing all of this worrying, but all I keep seeing is up and to the right

With big voter efficiency advantages on top of that. I'm not breaking out VinceCarterItsOver.gif yet of course, but the rape train appears to not have brakes.

I think there is some shallowness with L support in the cycle due to fatigue. There is an element of relief too I think, because Carney is perceived to be an adult.

Anyway, I also think there is a permanent enthusiasm advantage with modern movement conservatives in Anglo nations generally. Strong representation of evangelicals (largely US, but there is a discernible group here too), a narrative of embattlement - largely rural and non-uni educated, and of course the apparent impact of social media, which seems to be different from other voters.

Yeah in general libs have to be angry enough to turn up to vote against the opposition to win an election, whereas conservatives are always there. This Trump stuff may do the trick.
