Even I've warmed to Domi somewhat. This guy really has it in for him.

That said, he's definitely not my ideal 3C in the playoffs. I would like to see someone else brought in for that, but I don't know if it's doable. I sure wouldn't want to waste trade capital on another ROR going UFA who may or may not be the answer. I'm doubtful we make any move there, other than a depth guy who could take over 3C, push Domi to the wing, and maybe even press Kampf into less time from Keefe.

The trade capital needs to go towards a top pair D. No idea who will be available, but I hope we get someone really good, not just a stopgap.
 
Thing is he's not wrong about him not being what Brad wants at 3C.

But that means he's basing his entire argument on what he thinks Brad wants, and not actually analyzing what Domi is doing on the ice.
 
With Matthews definitely and Tavares (this year) having pretty pretty good defensive impacts, the fuck do we need a traditional 3C for anyway? Fire Kampf out of a cannon and get a good defensive guy for the 4th line and turn the 4th into a good version of a boring no event defensive line.

We have a 3rd line that actually does things, fucking finally, and the media is worried that they might get scored on more often than a shitty boring 3rd line.
 
I don't really understand how it's a conundrum. Ok so he isn't the perfect most ideal 3c... So what? He can play wing too? He adds to their offensive depth? So just keep him? I don't get it

It’s not Domi Jonas has it in for. If Dubas had signed him, you wouldn’t be able to stop him from constantly gushing about what a good signing he’s been, and what a pleasant surprise he’s been at 3C.
 
He's basically kerfoot (better at o, worse at d) except he's actually having success at center. Can't recall a Kerfoot Conundrum article though. And they legitimately did have a Kerfoot Conundrum. Dude was a misfit, not cheap, and fairly simple to upgrade on if they tried.

Domi being versatile enough to give them long-term minutes at center already feels like an upgrade at least on most kerf years. That's what kerf was supposed to be!

Of course we would all do this, but Keefe clearly wouldn't allow Kampf to be dealt, to the extent he has sway with Tre.

At least for this year, I think it's a pipe dream to expect them to get rid of him, in the first year of his shitty four year deal.

Definitely keep him at this point. He's good offensive depth that we generally lack in the postseason.

But actually use him as 3C in the playoffs....I'm uneasy with it, and we don't have anyone else.

Also, hate to bring up the doomsday scenario, and we may be fucked if this happens regardless, but one of Matty or Tavares getting hurt and suddenly Domi is your 2C, Kampf is your 3C. Legit frightening if there isn't a guy who can capably step into the top 6 as a center. And losing Willy on the wing isn't the answer either.
 
He's only been playing center for what though, like 30% of the games played so far? I think half of his points were from the wing before, no?
