No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

I think it's more that folks think that Kampf isn't good enough to get that super tough usage. But maybe that's incorrect. Time will tell when we see him line up against teams top lines in the dzone this playoffs!

True, but even then - do we even really want to increase Domi's defensive responsibilities?

Don't think it's about Domi's. You can still shelter Domi and simply trust your top two lines more. But then we've seen Tavares struggle with that in the past.. I'd rather lose because of him than over-using Kampf tho.

Looks like we're going with the Brodie-McCabe matchup pairing, and Lilly goes with Rielly.

I really hope Mo-Lilly works out. For whatever reason they haven't been great in their limited time together over the past couple years.

Doesn't look like Gio is back tonight, but Benoit is getting in over Lagesson. Even though Lagesson has been favored kver Benoit, the Benoit-Timmins pair has worked better in their tiny sample. Not that it matters too much with Gio probably back in next game.

Sure feels like McCabe has been excellent lately. No issues with that and you can give Mo some more favorable usage. Obviously in a perfect world you acquire an all-around stud that can handle toughs and slide McCabe or Brodie down a slot to play with Mo. But even then I'd feel sad about dropping Liljegren to the 3rd pairing. But that's easier to justify when you're acquiring a stud as opposed to some 3/4/5 guy.

McCabe has been their best D since Klingberg went out.

McCabe is so bad with the puck though. It's kinda painful. If he's truly good defensively like the numbers suggest, then I'd like him to be pure shutdown guy and never really get too far out of the dzone.

We really badly need a dman who isn't a liability and can put up great offensive numbers. So badly.

Gio has been helping his mom get ready for Xmas this whole time. Fitness took a hit.
