That JT line would eat up on the cycle. M&M always work real well with krok. Third line, Nylander should carry.

The irony is that Tavares will probably look his best flanked by two guys that play a slower game like Bert & Jarnkrok or Bert & Knies. But then he won't be able to rack up those sweet assists passing it to Willy in the neutral zone and watching him do the work, so this is obviously an undesirable outcome.

My concern with even the concept of moving JT to the wing is that I'm not sure Minten is going to cut it. He's "looked" fine, but 42% xG in sweet heart usage and the lowest ixG among forwards not named Reaves.

He's earned this look, and 2 games is a small ass sample so give him his 9 games worth of rope before making the decision, but if the first two games is what he is at this level as a 19 yr old, he's going back to junior.

Haha, he’s our second line dented, 5 points in two games, same as Willy. So many great reasons to break them up!

The best line would be Knies with Tavares and Willy. It’ll be proven as soon as they try it.

Life is lovely when one of the best RW'ers in the league drags you around at 5v5, sure.

But if Minten doesn't pan out, we've got a gaping hole at 3C and a deep enough forward group to run 3 scoring lines. It would be nuts to not try Willy at C for an extended stretch and see if he takes to it. He was an elite natural centre at every level until Saskatchewan Science decided that he wasn't. If it's at least tried between now and the deadline, we know what we need to focus on adding, and honestly, at 5v5, Tavares is just an okay 2C at this point, but would be a fantastic 3C.
