No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

Lagesson's nerdies have cratered, Benoit's have remained pretty good in reasonably difficult usage for a guy like him.

If you're a "real goals" guy, the Lagesson has a GF% of 47% and Benoit of 57%, and that's with Benoit taking a lot more defensive zone starts.

With that said, Benoit ahead of Lilly is definitely a very Keefe thing to do, and Gio-Timmins should be the 3rd pairing, but I've given up expecting Sheldon to do the easy smart thing with his rosters.

Benoit has been really good IMO. Moving the puck effectively and really good one on one around the net.

Lagerssons eye test is good because he is a better skater but the results have been meh all year.

Yeah i agree.

And you can see lagesson skate himself into trouble too often.

I'm not sold on Benny yet but he's been real solid. But i don't know if he can do well in this kind of usage on what looks like a shutdown pair.

The issue with using this top 6 is that there's no way to play McCabe and Lilly together because they both have to play the right side. Probably best to put them back together and use Timmins on the bottom pair right side but Timmins has been making a lot of gaffes out there.

I was dreading looking at the standings today, but i checked and they didnt even lose a spot and are still in 9th. Nice.

Oh and Gio-McCabe was legit great together in tough usage. Wouldn't hate seeing that tried agIn.

yeah the lack of puck skills on our '2nd pair' will come back to bite us nearly immediately, I would imagine.

and then you have two excellent puck movers on the bottom pair... bet they get shifts with the Kampf line lol

i think the best top 6 has to have Benoit in for D and Timmins for his puck moving ability. Which I think means Gio sits. He was horrible to start the year but that may be in Klingberg.

Reilly-Lilly
McCabe-Brodie
Benoit-Timmins

The D is kind of hard to figure out with non elite D Brodie.

losing Muzz and shutdown Brodie in back to back years without really much in the way of internal replacements hurts a lot. biggest glaring weakness that hopefully Tre can address.

or Lilly can step up, but I don't think any of us expect Keefer to give him a real opportunity to do so

It's obvious that if we ever win, we'll do so in spite of Keefe.

He's been holding us back for years, and is poised to do it again. This year seems more likely than ever that we'll bow out in the first round.
