No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

The Leafs really need a Brodie replacement so Brodie can play third pair. Rielly/XXXXXX/McCabe/Lilly can work top 4; Brodie, Gio, Benoit can cover bottom pair

Yeah, but everything went well last night, how bad could the 4th line have really been?

I'd give McCabe a look with Rielly tbh. McCabe's really playing great. In their limited time together (37min) Rielly-McCabe are at 57.7xgf%.

True but maybe Brodie can do a little better with a little less icetime on the 2nd pair.

Lots of options really.

Brodie/Gio - Lilly
Benoit/Gio - Timmins

Benoit - Lilly
Gio - Brodie

Laine going on the players assistance program now as well. That takes your salary cap hit away right?

Give Brodie some time off with his wife and family and then have him ready for the playoffs.

Use that cap money plus Klingbergs for a defenseman..and then Brodie and gio are pair 7/8. Like the olden days.

Or at least give Brodie and gio a shot as the third pair some nights

Pretty sure that’s not how that works lol

was listening to the commentators go on about the Jets heavy D the last two games (because of course they MUST be a big heavy D to be leading the league in goals against).

They still needed to replace ROR and Muzzin....but obviously weren't counting on Brodie and Tavares going to shit as well.

Toronto will be buyers at the deadline as usual, but I don't think they should be this time. Too many holes now to justify throwing more futures out the door for some veteran so we can lose in the early rounds yet again.

trading for a forward would almost be counterproductive, unless it's a really damn good one, because the guys most likely to get replaced in the lineup by new forwards are not the guys that should be coming out.
