Silver lining no matter what happens here on out is that we've got $3.5M in goal freeing up this summer, to go along with $5M in Brodie.

Bad news is that it all gets eaten up by raises to Matty and Willy, a bigger contract for Lilly, and to a goalie replacement.

Not much money freeing up to do much with unless Bert and Domi's $8.5M is also gonna go out, but then you need to replace them. I was firmly in the camp of letting both walk at the end of the year, but Domi has proven himself to be a valuable, versatile gamer, and Bertuzzi serves his purpose, I suppose. I think Domi probably reups with some 2-3 year deal for a bit more than he's making, but wouldn't be surprised if Bertuzzi isn't around next year.

I have a pretty good way of freeing up 6M
 
We have about $19.5 in capspace, with maybe three RFA we want to re-sign in Robertson ($1-2m?), Liljegren ($2-3m?), and Dewar ($1m).

So about $15m without re-signing any of our UFA, and having a roster of 12 forwards, 5 dmen, and 1 goalie.

Minten, Cowan, to go along with Knies and Robertson, while still having Matty, Willy, Marner, and Tavares, and McMann and Holmberg, is 10 out of 12 of a forward group that only fatboy could fail with by giving all their icetime to Kampf and Reaves.
 
the one kid i think might be able to make the team permanently next year is Hildeby.

his save% doesn't look great at first glance, but compared to the rest of the marlies goalies it's amazing. team defense was probably not so great.
 
My sincere fear is that they're going to sign Baboon to some idiotic Reaves type contract, but much worse, given his super misleading bullshit numbers so far. I'm not emotionally stable enough for that guy to come back, no matter what happens here.
