If he thinks the best move for his career at this point is to spend even more time sitting on the sidelines, he’s welcome to do it.
I just hope Treliving has the balls to let him sit as long as possible, rather than trade him for Lee Stempniak Jr.

We don't know what went on behind closed doors of course but he played like top line winger offensively last season but was our 13th forward often playing behind 2-3 guys who are fringe nhlers at best. I can't blame him for being choked and believing that moving on is best for his career. I think you've got it backwards. We've done very little so far to make him feel like we want him.

Oh I agree with everything you say there.
But now he's been offered or told he has a better chance now hasn't he? I think that's right, and he still wants to go?
I don't begrudge him for being pissed in the least. But if he's not happy and holding a grudge I doubt it's going to work out here.

He played 56 games including 6 of 7 in the playoffs and played the 7th most winger minted ES/g behind Bertuzzi, Knies, Domi, Krok, Marner and Nylander and was a fixture on PP2.
He has the same opportunity as McMann, who was arguably better than him too.

Eh, 11 and change is the most TOI he's avg in his career. That's pretty shit. Scratching him after 3 goal in 4 games and they won every game was such stupid shit that causes these issues.
