yeah I'd flip McMann and Holmberg (with holmberg at C, domi at W) and see what happens. McMann fits the idea of a 4th line better so gives us the chance not to have Reaves in the lineup, while Holmberg should be handle to give some defensive stability at C to a line with offensive wingers.

scarily, hilariously, the guy who is actually earning his way up from the 4th line into the top 9 is......our man Kampf.

I still want to see Domi back with marner. Small sample size from last year was pretty, pretty good from memory. Maybe that gives us a third line seperate from Matthews and Nylander.

Move Marner for a C (Pettersson if the Canucks are open to moving him) play domi on matthews wing.

My humble guess is Marner is going to continue to be a bitch and either not waive or only waive to very few teams - doubting canucks are one of those teams. And doubting marner would extend with them as part of the deal to allow this trade to happen from Vancouver’s eyes.

I know this doesn't matter in the end, but it is true this team is so stale. I would argue I've never seen a sports team anywhere more stale. Same act over and over. 1 and 8 in playoffs series is so ugly. Never a fan of making a trade for the sake of it, but Leafs might be the best example in history to do so

Yeah, even at this point, I’ll be shocked if Mitch agreed to waive his NMC.

Hell, I don’t think Treliving has the balls to even ask him to waive or try to swing that trade in the first place.

Instead, both sides will take the path of least resistance and play out the year. Then Treliving will either cave and hand out the eight year/$100M+ extension Mitch wants, or he’ll let him walk for nothing as a UFA.

I think a soft $11 mill forward that sucks in the playoffs is the last thing we need for Marner. Especially when he is a C like Willy or Domi is a C.

He'll let him walk and sign Sam Bennett next year for a more reasonable number obviously

OR

He trades him to Nashville for Marchesault or Stamkos and a pick.

The cap hit’s not as bad as I feared. But I’m not really a big fan of McCabe, and even less of a fan of locking up his age 32-36 seasons.

Treliving is doing a repeat of Calgary and is setting up an absolute cap disaster to leave in his wake once he eventually gets the boot.

The Treliving calgary disaster was letting Gaudreau and Tkachuk, his playoffs chokers, get away.
