Imagine sitting out 10 games to rest the back and coming back not 100% and then this shitface gives you a monster crosscheck to the back and fucks you up all over again.

Not so merry christmas.

Well I guess they have been maybe the most injured team in hockey so there's the silver lining to this mediocrity.


p.s. anyone who doesn't think Matthews is by far our best and most important player (even with a bad back!) is a dummy.

all the injuries have given us a comical number of line combinations.....and almost all of these line combos has a sample size too small to care about.

not as many D combos, but the injuries to McCabe and now Tanev have really taken a toll on that combo and the rest of the D, plunging the most used combos down into mediocrity.

Silver lining is that the most used line combos still look good:

So if we ever get healthy we should still probably be legit good.

And you'd think that adding Dewar or Holmberg or Steeves onto that 4th line instead of Reaves for sure and maybe Kampf too would make that 4th line an actual strenghth too.

We're also an old team now, so injuries coming with that shouldn't be overly surprising.

I don't understand why we'd want to do that. Did we sign Kampf long term and Reaves in his twilight years just to not play them? Madness.
 
There's a post on Reddit that Pierre Lebrun is reporting that Yanni Gourde would be willing to waive his NTC to come to Toronto. Any interest?

Concerning our GM still has the guy on the roster to even give the coach a chance.

Also, concerning our C depth + beniot stapled into the line up.

There’s been way more than enough time. GM should start waiving the useless guys, letting the Marlies prospects have their chance here or make trades to fill the depth spots.
 
coach didn't sign him.

and reaves keeps coming out of the lineup any time we're close to healthy so it'd be nice if the team just proved that they were clearly better without him, as much or more for the GM's sake than the coach's.
