No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

We're also an old team now, so injuries coming with that shouldn't be overly surprising.

people keep saying this, but it didn't sound right to me so i decided to check.

These are the ages of the 12 "good" teams so far this year, sorted into "Top", "Mid", "Bottom", and "Extra" slots for each position and then given an average age for each slot.

also colour coded the averages - blue for youngest 2, light blue for next youngest 2, red for oldest 2, orange for next oldest 2, no colour for the middle 4 for each slot.

Don't think the Leafs can be described as 'old' at all really. Average aged at worst. Arguably leaning towards younger than average overall.

The only relatively old part of the team is the mid-tier D. While they skew young in the depth slots. If you slot Woll in as the starting goalie then they'd probably be described as relatively young.

Don’t worry folks! Brilliant Leaf reporter Jonas Siegel had already figured out what the Leaf defense needs:

The TL;DR summary: ‘ole Jonas thinks Treliving should acquire one of Luke Schenn, Cody Ceci or David Savard.

He also mentions acquiring Ilya Lyubushkin for the third time, but notes sadly that it’s likely not an option since he just signed a three year deal this past summer.

Top 4 is the oldest in your analysis by a full 2 years. The difference between 34-32 is way, way bigger than the difference between 32-30 as well. Our top 4 is eligible for social security in defenceman years.

Also...Hakanpaa would almost definitely be in our top 6 (32) if his knee wasn't paper mache.
