No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

And to be clear, I wouldn’t argue O’Reilly’s not good.

I just don’t want him back for the reasons already stated. Plus, for team building reasons, I question the wisdom of having 2nd & 3rd line centers that both can’t skate.

On top of that, O’Reilly doesn’t even have amulet power either, as far as we know.

Get him too.

ROR is good though, you're dumb.
Who said he's bad. I said for the right price, and using him in the right role, he'd be a good add.

But at this point, this would not be our big playoff add or someone who could get us over the top. He certainly wasn't that guy last time. He'd just be a complementary piece that should be like the third best guy we add at the deadline. After a good scoring forward and a top pair D.

Good luck getting all three of these needs met though, especially with Trader Tre, who I'm not sure is even aware that trading is allowed.

Toffoli: winger, 32yrs, $6.0 for 3 more years
O'Reilly: center 33yrs, $4.5 for 2 more years

Last 2yrs scoring

Toffoli: 113gms, 33gl/56pt pace (Plyff: 5gms, 33gl/33pt pace)
O'Reilly: 111gms, 25gl/64pt pace (Plff: 17gms, 19gl/53pt pace)

I mean, I remember speculating about the Keefe/O’Reilly idea myself.

Maybe I just incepted you!

i think we speculated based on this quote

but i'm sure i saw a tweet from one of the brocasts talking about a potential trade this year flat out claiming it was keefe he had any issue with, not the leafs.

1. Berube's not being a complete idiot about the reaves situation. Hopefully they don't give a shit the bed effort again with reaves out like against detroit last week.

2. We've been seeing last year's shutdown pair benoit-mccabe more and more lately but this is the first time they're actually starting together this year i think. Might not work but if it's the best way to make benoit useful then might be good. And rielly-timmins as a pure offensive pairing has lots of potential too.

I'm glad he's experimenting some at least

I'm still not a Timmins fan. Is he a bad #5/6? No. But it feels like he's constantly on the ice and in the middle of plays, and I don't want that from a #5/6.

Every game I see him pretty much locked into the lineup pisses me off just from the standpoint that they never gave Lilly that opportunity.

I don't rightly know what there is to prefer in Lilly over Timmins.

And Lilly was locked into the lineup for years.

Lilly's gone.

I don't miss him, he had his chances and it didn't work.

One of many through the years, some blossom elsewhere, some don't.
