Actually that early season bump in PP opportunities seems to have disappeared too.

No point threat continues to be the biggest on-ice issue. makes it a lot easier to cover a 5 on 4 when one of the 5 is pretty much zero threat.

I personally would not be using Matthews at the bumper spot either.. at least not when the powerplay is below average with the talent level they have. the guy with 2 60 goal seasons needs to be getting the puck in good spots out in front and shooting it, period. at least until things are where they should be (top 5 PP).

one thing is that the last time the Leafs powerplay was good, there was a lot of movement and guys switching spots, would be nice to see them start moving their feet more and trying that. it's too slow, too static, and as is obvious from the results, too predictable and well scouted by their opponents.
