No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

Vs #1-8: 10gms, 107pt pace
Vs #9-16: 8gms, 82pt pace
Vs #17-24: 15gms, 82pt pace
Vs #25-32: 11gms, 149pt pace

After some of the teams we dropped points against early on have turned out to be not-awful teams, it seems like for the first time in forever the Leafs are finally a team that isn't dropping points to bottom feeders.

They've only lost points in one game against the bottom-8 teams, and that was that trap game against the Islanders just before xmas, when we were on the backend of a back to back and 3rd in 4 flying in off the road against a well rested Isles team waiting for us, without Matthews, and with Islanders themselves being closer to bubble team than bottom feeder.

And the Leafs have so far taken care of business against the top teams too. They face another one of those tonight in the Stars.

So far the problems have come against the mushy middle - though it's actually the bottom of that mushy middle that's been the real issue now that I look at it....

The Leafs are also at a 109pt pace against the next best 5 teams that are seemingly comfortably in a playoffs spot after the top-8. So a 108pt pace overall against the top-13 teams who seem to be safe playoff teams at this juncture.

And then against the bottom 6 teams in the league who seem to be clearly out of the playoffs picture they're actually perfect at a 164pt pace without dropping any points.

So the actual issues this year have come against the big smorgasbord of teams currently fighting for a playoffs spot - an 86pt pace - 23pts in 22gms against these teams.

while I don't disagree in the larger sense, he is a better hockey player than a few guys we're playing most nights. at least on paper.

Yeah, but you and I both know those aren’t the guys he’ll replace in the lineup if he comes back.

And there’s no one he could replace that would be more fucking useless in the playoffs than Yarncock is.

They should bring in Klingberg for cheap. See what he can bring to the PP. if he has any juice you just helped the team for cheap. If he’s not playing well or not healthy by the deadline you can make another move.

I saw Tony DeAngelo is back in the states. What’s up with him? Is he that big a piece of shit that no team will sign him? He’s definitely skilled enough. Would be a great fit for our PP woes.

My current status on the Leafs is I keep going between "they have to trade Rielly because he is completely uselss in a system where Dmen can't lead the rush or pinch," and "no that’s dumb, fire Berube already."

Klingberg won’t produce here either.
