All 3 guys are top pairing dmen, playing on the shut down pair and 28 years old. Getting any of them would be great, but Andersson likely costs the most in trade and is likely the worst.

Walman also had a horrible year last year which brings his numbers down, but he's been a top dman two of the last 3 years according to the models. If you remove last year then his 2 year split is 1.3 p/60 ,0.53 rel xGF, 17.2 xGAR (12th in NHL). Plus he has the best contract and San Jose could easily eat half. He'd be my top target.

I think they think Quillan is a legit C who can handle C duty defensively. Also he's finally started to produce lately with 5gls/11pts in 14gms.

but hard to argue with.

I think that SJ probably is pretty stoked to have stolen Walman tho and won't be looking to move him.

But man Pettersson might be a perfect fit, considering caphit, term, and Dubas' motivation to make changes.

I don't really get the idea of not trading with a team as "punishing" them. Calgary's really dumb. You're just punishing yourself, not the other team.

And you'd think there are a number of dubey assets here that he'd be interested in reacquiring.
