if we ever acquire Tanev, he'll be injured within two games, likely for the remainder of the season.

and if not for Klinger I'd assume McCabe. but I imagine they'll pair McCabe with Kling.
 
All things point to a calgary deal.

And yes Tanev is the main get IMO but I would love to be able to get Zadorov as well. He's a perfect number 6 that can help punish some forwards coming back.

I have been saying as well to get the 3C picked up from Calgary and although my heart would love to see Naz there, I don't see the retention and value being there as mentioned before.

Lindholm or Backlund (backlund being the less expensive option)

Also, why not try Gio and Brodie together for a bit. See if they can recoup the old magic.

I mean, I've kind of been with this over the last few years but I think we've just seen too many examples of the team not responding physically now to write it off. I'm not suggesting that we fill the lineup with trash players who can fight. But I wouldn't be at all upset if we shuffled some depth around and replaced it with guys who can play hockey and aren't afraid of cross checking someone else in the teeth.
 
it's so unimportant. that game went to a shootout. against the hottest team in the league.

us getting run around the ice without being able to touch the puck is a much bigger deal.

If Calgary detonates, which they probably should, being stuck with 3.5 x 6 rather than 7 x 6 is a bit of a win. There are few enough teams that would be willing to go 3.5 x 6 for Naz imo. May as well take your medicine and move on.

From our standpoint, I do it because 1) He's worth more than that now and by a fair amount imo 2) Even when he loses a step he's smart enough with a high enough IQ to be worth that for a year or two as a 3C and then when he's 36+ if he's washed, we'll deal with that then, but likely LTIR and he gets his money for "rehabbing a chronic injury".
 
The physical stuff is just a major distraction and maybe it is a valid point that the core lacks Mackinnon-like craziness come playoff time.. But getting their shit throttled this season has absolutely nothing to do with lack of physicality and everything to do with them sucking enormous donkey cock. Right now they're losing and getting outplayed because they're sucking more than they've sucked in a long long long long time.

But the concern is that Tre probably just thinks they're too soft. They may go in a different path and to me that's frightening. I'd prefer it they just played better hockey.
 
if we respond to getting run around the rink every game by adding fucking zadorov it's fucking ridiculous.
