That's nuts when you consider how little world record performances have moved in a lot of major events over the last few decades.

The first mens 100m record timed to two decimal places was Jim Hines in 1968 with a 9.95. almost 30 yrs later and Donovan Bailey had moved the chains by .11 seconds. 55 years later and the record has moved to 9.58 but we're still talking about the same level of performance really. Someone running Hines record and Bolt's record in the same race are separated by a few strides.
 
Some women’s track records from the late 70s and early 80s still stand today.

Nothing to do with Soviet bloc countries and steroids/hormone therapy, naturally.

What a farce.

should probably have banned Michael Phelps as well, he had genetic advantages over all his competitors too.
