One or two excuses & probably quite limited! The "ah fuck, here we go again" playoff thread

frustrating that the series is even though, despite the shit performance of most of their forwards. but encouraging if we can keep it up.

the problem is that we're usually a much better road team than home cause of dumdum. so I expect the Bruins numbers to improve in Toronto...

goaltending is probably always going to be in their favour unfortunately.

and so far obviously special teams are too, but it's possible for us to turn that around.

re special teams, at least we can be pretty confident the number of calls will decrease as the series goes on

I will say that this boston matchup might be the one where playing all our brutes makes the most sense simply because boston looks like a pretty slow team. Debrusk seems to be the only one with any jets.

against florida tho we probably can't get away with it.

These numbers are bullshit.

Tavares wasn't great overall, but I thought Knies had a stellar game frankly.

Eddy is clearly demolishing Lilly. It's hilarious we have Brodie and he's supposedly our 7th guy behind Baboon and Stank.
my eye test said that the location Knies most frequented last night was the seat of his pants

In saying that Knies definitely has a future and the right tools to blossom into a playoff beast. He's just not there yet. And shouldn't be in the top 6. He looked way better on the 4th line. When they get healthy he should replace Reaves.

Nah, in fact, I think Knies and Robertson have played their best while playing together. And Holmberg gelled with them.

Robbie is more offensively gifted probably, but Knies plays fucking tough and is really clever and creative. Play them together and build a chemistry between them. Leave Marner and Nylander, Domi and Bert, for the first and second lines. Jarn to the 4th.

Willy likely pushes him down and Dewar out? Though Dewar has been kinda good so Im hesitant

willy's 100% gonna push robby out unfortunately.

though I gotta say I don't know if i'd break up that 4th line either.

the more interesting call will be when McMann is ready to go.

I'm not getting the Dewar love. He's been okay, passable, nothing special. Kampf has been a bit better than usual, and Reaves a lot better than usual but still mostly braindead.

Those numbers do look like bullshit. Reaves the most effective player at 80, while Matty at 59? Sure tougher matchups and whatever, but some of the numbers make no sense.
