OT: American Politics

Polymarket still giving Biden a 60% chance of dropping out. Not discounting the possibility but that seems crazy high to me. Is this the easiest money you can make ever? I bet that sick fuck gordo put money on it. I would have nibbled if they allowed betting on that site in Canada.
Well, you've no doubt heard the adage..."bet on yourself"

That's where I truly lose the plot with it all. It's so, so fucking easy to disprove every fucking claim they ever make. The only way to make sense of it is to believe that it's all a conspiracy and fucking millions of people are in on it to make it work.
The best part is there is a conspiracy...and the dummies are the front-line fodder.

He got giddy like a teenager talking about his Finnish made Icebreakers. You don't see that every day.

I love the man about as much as I can love a politician. In 6 minutes there he showed fantastic skill at avoiding getting pulled into conversations he rightfully sees as not his place, presents an expectation that Trump will continue to support NATO (and provides Fox viewers with an entirely non critical win for Trump re: Nato when others could have easily gone critical), presents Finland as a long term ally of the US and promotes their usefulness, etc.

He knew his audience and he worked within the guardrails of getting the messages he wanted to get out to them: The Nato summit was a success, your god emperor made Nato stronger, the rest of us are now pulling our weight.

plus he took a clear dig at US polarization (called it his biggest worry!) on the very network that made polarization their business model

All of the important things that improve the lives of ordinary Americans.

Could you imagine going to the beach and....not having the territorial waters you're swimming in named after a guy who bankrupted a casino?

just in case you're unsure, what these two jokers are talking about is not ballots, but ballot images, which are used to compare ballot signatures when the scanner is unsure.

But the actual ballots were all counted, multiple times.

"In Fulton County, specifically, the initial tabulation reported 524,659 votes cast in the presidential contest, including 137,240 votes for Donald Trump and 381,144 votes for Joe Biden.

The risk-limiting audit, conducted by hand, found that 525,293 votes were cast in Fulton County for the presidential election, including 137,620 votes for Trump and 381,179 votes for Biden.

Finally, the machine recount, requested by Trump, reported 523,779 votes cast for president in Fulton County. Trump received 137,247 of those votes, a net gain of seven votes; and Biden received 380,212 of the votes, a net loss of 932 votes."

note that it's a Biden landslide in Fulton county by 245K votes in all 3 counts.
I believe the signature is important to look at validity of the ballot

Correct. The ballot images taken by scanning machines when in doubt, which are not votes, are then used by humans to verify signatures on the actual ballots.
