Here's an example. After the RNC, ABC news showed 5 clips of Trump all sounding more or less normal when he spent most of 90 minutes sounding unhinged and rambling. 95% of the newspaper front pages for the next day basically took his comms team at their word about his speech being about unifying, and they ran with it before the speech even happened.

Imagine for a moment if Biden had received similar treatment at the debate. That the news shows ran 5 clips from after his uber senior moment to start where he sounded old but awake, and the newspapers had already written their stories based on what Biden's comms team said Biden was going to be focusing on at the debate. All talk of him looking completely lost going away after 24-48 hours aside from some of the chattering twitter class. How much would that have changed the following 2-3 weeks of the race?
