OT: American Politics

Got it.

But fuck.

Preston's views on women on the ForumIce discussion boards seem to be a point of controversy. He is known for expressing opinions that many find controversial or offensive, often touching on stereotypes or generalizations. It's important to approach these topics critically and consider multiple perspectives to gain a well-rounded understanding of his views and their implications.
I think it struggles interpreting sarcasm.

Among Josh Shapiro, Cooper, Mark Kelly, Andy Beshear, and Tim Walz, each has unique qualities that could benefit a Kamala Harris ticket. Here’s a brief look at each candidate and how they might align with Harris:

### 1. **Josh Shapiro**
- **Current Position**: Governor of Pennsylvania
- **Strengths**: Shapiro is known for his work as Attorney General and now as Governor. Pennsylvania is a key swing state, and his presence could help solidify Democratic support in a critical battleground. His background in law and focus on issues like election integrity might also complement Harris’s legal experience.

### 2. **Roy Cooper**
- **Current Position**: Governor of North Carolina
- **Strengths**: Cooper has a strong record on healthcare and education. North Carolina is a competitive state that Democrats aim to flip, so his selection could help in this crucial battleground. His experience in managing a swing state could also be an asset.

### 3. **Mark Kelly**
- **Current Position**: Senator from Arizona
- **Strengths**: Kelly brings a military background and a focus on issues like space and technology. Arizona is an increasingly important swing state, and Kelly's moderate profile and appeal to independent and suburban voters could be valuable.

### 4. **Andy Beshear**
- **Current Position**: Governor of Kentucky
- **Strengths**: Beshear is known for his focus on bipartisan solutions and strong public health responses. Kentucky is a deeply Republican state, but Beshear’s ability to work across the aisle could help in appealing to moderates and independents. His presence might not swing Kentucky to the Democrats but could bring a more moderate and practical approach to the ticket.

### 5. **Tim Walz**
- **Current Position**: Governor of Minnesota
- **Strengths**: Walz has a background in education and veterans’ affairs and has led Minnesota through various challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Minnesota is traditionally Democratic but not a lock, and Walz’s experience could help in mobilizing voters and addressing key issues.

### Comparative Analysis:

- **Electoral Impact**: **Josh Shapiro** and **Mark Kelly** offer strong potential due to their positions in critical battleground states (Pennsylvania and Arizona, respectively). Their selection could significantly impact electoral strategy in these pivotal areas.

- **Experience and Synergy**: **Roy Cooper** and **Tim Walz** bring extensive gubernatorial experience and could provide a steady and pragmatic presence that complements Harris’s leadership style.

- **Moderation and Appeal**: **Andy Beshear** has a more moderate appeal that could attract swing voters, but his impact may be less direct on flipping key states compared to others.

### Best Choice:

**Josh Shapiro** might be considered the best option due to his strong position in Pennsylvania, a crucial swing state. His experience as Attorney General and Governor aligns well with Harris’s background, and his role in Pennsylvania could be pivotal in the 2024 election. However, **Mark Kelly** also presents a compelling choice for his appeal in Arizona and his strong bipartisan and space-focused profile.

Ultimately, the decision would depend on the campaign’s specific needs and strategic goals, but both Shapiro and Kelly offer significant advantages in key battleground states.

I don't think you've shied away from your views that women are generally less competent than men in powerful positions! Your honestly makes you lof and we always know where you stand on every topic so imo just stand behind it!
What nonsense. I have never said or even implied that. Just because I've expressed a dislike for a few women over the years who are public figures and aren't exactly universally loved out there, doesn't mean I have any negative disposition against women in positions of power. Not being a big fan of Kamala, and hating AOC, is not some general aversion towards powerful women.

Alright, some early stuff

- El Mayo is 76 and has been in bad health for a while now
- The Sinaloa cartel split into faction a bunch of years ago (after Chapo got pinched). El Mayo's faction and a faction loyal to Chapo's sons (referred to as Los Chapitos). So, the Sinaloa cartel isn't what it used to be 10 years ago just from the split in the first place
- There's been a nasty turf war going on....well...fucking everywhere up north, but most specifically for El Mayo in Tijuana. The CJNG has been pushing in, and there's still the local Arellano-Felix cartel.
- Maybe coincidentally, one of Chapos sons, Ovidio, was released from custody 2 days ago....but I'm assuming that's Mexican custody.
- El Mayo has always been known as one of the bosses who 'plays by the rules', which is why he's never really been targeted by the mexican feds as much as he should have.

So the early rumours are basically that he felt his rivals getting closer and closer and with his health preferred living out his time in witness protection in the US rather than getting lit up in an old house in the middle of the jungle somewhere.
