Eventually democrats are going to realize that there is nothing they can do to lick the boots of billionaires clean enough to get the support of the ultra wealthy class and that policies about redistributing the obscene levels of wealth they have is best for the country and massively popular when messaged properly.
The ultra wealthy will vote in an authoritarian 100 times out of 100 if that authoritarian promises to cut their taxes, remove environmental regulations, consumer protections, labour organizations, and tax laws that currently barely prohibit them from owning all of society.
The ultra wealthy don't see these as the covenant that stops the working class from kicking in their gates and beating them to death in front of their families and they've stopped being afraid of that potential outcome.
