OT: American Politics

Yes, my wife has free choice to choose her expert. Her life is not impacted by an expert behind the green curtain dictating policymaking. Well, it is in some respects like medical associations but luckily she still gets free will and exemptions if she disagrees with recommendations

Unless she needs or wants an abortion. Then no free will.

again, this just demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of how government currently works, and has for decades.

your lives are very much impacted by experts. how do you think speed limits are determined?

how do you think health regulations are made?

why do you think legislators know everything about everything and should be able to decide everything without consulting anyone else?

The thing is, all of those rules, regulations, etc usually come into being because the lack of them killed people, made them sick, caused people to get scammed/taken advantage of, etc, etc, etc.

This idea that they're somehow dropped upon the people from above by unelected experts is nuts. Everything, everything is impacted by or directly voted on by elected officials in some way. If not directly (and that would be an epic clusterfuck) then indirectly by the heads of federal agencies being appointed by the President.

seriously? seriously?

have you... uh... not been paying attention to the GOP inserting themselves in between women and their doctors to literally take those decisions away from women and medical professionals? do you actually not understand this? dear lord.
It’s you who don’t understand. The voters in those location decide when a murder of an unborn child is allowed

I do not care about any international affairs that have no impact on me.

Harris and Trump are about as far away from impacting my life as a Muslim slave building iphones in China.

With that said, it would be hilarious if trump won.

I'm sure those tarrifs will have no impact on Canada or you.

Right and the people elect a person who will allow for those to be enforced because they agree with them

I wish I could help you understand science but unfortunately that is beyond the scope of what I can do on a message board.

even still, nothing to do with voters. just a doctor and his patient - they're the only ones who decide. you want to take that decision away from them, and give it to the old white men running the party you support. I want to protect your wife from those old men interfering in her healthcare, and you want her to be at their whim. sad.

Morality, crimes, has always been decided by communities.

Not sure what Trump world you’re in touch with lol especially after Biden’s blunder

All of today's statements and actions by Trump and his adjacents sound panicked as hell.

And yes, that includes the transparently desperate attempts to make hay out of Biden's comment.
