OT: American Politics

You have thousands of individual elections going on. There's always some spots where someone grabs the wrong code, or two piles of papers are swapped. Human life.
Like I said, you have years to prepare. Years. Private companies undergo larger projects with more variables and moving parts in less than a year.

I don't know what it's like in the US, but in Canada I know most local polling places are essentially staffed by retired people and volunteer workers. Not necessarily the highest talent levels at play in many cases. A lot of times these errors are mistakes made by the local staff, nothing at all related to any other part of the process.

So the training is the issue?

Today is a good day to actually get some work done.

Yup. I've had fun the past few days but there's literally nothing newsworthy today until polls close. Today is a good day to actually get some work done.

The one caveat to this is that we hope that there’s nothing newsworthy today until the polls close.

Violent interference with the voting process could still very well be part of MAGA-world’s plans, especially if they think they’re losing.

So you're aware that there many techinical issues and delays every single day in those companies right.
Yeah, and if our business model as built on selling those to customers then we’d make sure they’d work without any hitch or other else we’d lose customers
