OT: American Politics

They’ll redo labour laws and other regs to strengthen their position and throw a few tariff sops to placate the Trumpanzees. These, of course, will backfire and they will need to find new villains.

Trump will play lots of golf and take credit for the economy.

Well, those Latinos had better hope God exists because they're going to ne among the first ones to get fucked over by Trump.

My apologies for thinking that Americans were too smart to allow Trump a second chance to destroy their country. Apparently they're all as dumb as I feared they might be. And if it were only Americans who were about to suffer for this stupidity I'd just laugh. Unfortunately it's going to have negative effects for the rest of the world. Every dictatorship on the globe (yes, Trumpers, it's round) has been emboldened because they know that as of January next year they can do whatever they please.

America has sown the wind and we will all reap the whirlwind.

The rise of healthy masculinity. Ie the preservers of peace, creators of prosperity, men of resolute nature to protect and provide.

Thank God.
Misogyny is not healthy masculinity. And how will men, of resolute nature or otherwise, provide when women will soon outnumber them on college campuses by a 2:1 margin? Are we doing the handmaid's thing?

Then overwhelm the judical system with sexual assualt cases.
How can you bring charges for crimes that are no longer crimes?

People don't seem to grasp the finality of what just happened. You're all thinking of solutions which involve a democratic political process. Those days are over now. As of today the only law is whatever Trump says. When you're a dictator they let you do it. Just grab em by the pussy.

It is to most men believe it or not . This is the counter effect to the MeToo movement. I called it 10 years ago to my wife (gf at the time ). She laughed… This morning she said you were right

Abortion is not the issue the Harris campaign wanted it to be. Trump was right.

The pro-abortion resolutions ended up passing in most states that had them on the ballots, even if Trump won those states. I wonder how many people assumed that by voting for the resolution they'd be protecting access, even though you know Trump/Vance/RFK are going to be passing a nation-wide abortion ban before a baby conceived today is viable.

This entire thread is going to be rendered moot within a year. There simply won't be anything to discuss. Everything that happens from 2025 oneard will be a forgone conclusion. By 2028 the US will be having elections only to say they still have them but the outcome will not be a mystery.

R.I.P. American democracy. 1776-2025.

It’s not the election issue (Trump electability ) that everyone thinks it was.

They made Trump an issue (which is how you win elections I guess ) but he also made her an issue with the misogyny comments. It resonated.

Great work by ME and Zeke and others in the thread that I read every day for entertainment and information. However, I’m afraid that the US is about to enter the Quebec model of being bipolar as an electorate.

Growing up in the province, I have seen them vote for liberals PQ NDP Bloc and conservatives in a 40 year period.

Data modelling for future elections is out the door. It’s just a grift like everything else.
