OT: American Politics

The way people voted on issues where they could does not align with what you’re saying. This wasn’t a Christo wedge issue win, like gay marriage and abortion which sizable majorities support.

It was the economy, and perception of where people think they are today vs 4 years ago.

It was also a ground game election and like in 2016 the trump team did a great job and the dems just didn’t.

You can’t ignore half the country and write them off as shitheads and bumpkins.

It’s like the dems didn’t learn any lessons from the Hilary debacle. Total dumb dumbs.
 
Well There goes the ACA With a concept of nothing to Replace it. And I will reserve the right to go I told you so regarding Trump's baser instincts..

Ukraine will probably go to peace.. Losing the equivalents of CA to Texas. about 25%. Maybe more :(
Netanyahu well He'll have freedom to continue his genocide..
And I expect my Cost of living to go up..
 
It's the economy stupid , literally. The average joe blow doesn't understand the market forces that causes the price of a loaf of bread to increase by 27 % between 2020-2024, while their salaries increased by much less than half that percentage. The default response is impulsive outrage and to vote out the incumbents.

I'll be fine due to the last 4 years being really fucking good to me.. Just won't go out to eat or the like as much. as I'll need to cover my increase costs and that'll come from there.
After all Elon Promised us hardships..

I’m not saying it cost her the election, but it does demonstrate a lack of boldness to tap into new audiences.

This lurch to the right by average Joes is a persistent trend all around the world.
