OT: American Politics

Yeah, our mistake was not convincing The Rock to run.

(seriously)

I agree with this. But then let's stop talking about "good" and "bad" candidates on Monday morning like it's anything more than a fucked up 6 month long reality TV show anymore.

Kamala got voted off of the island in the season finale.

Another winning combo is the Bill Clinton deal where you hide being a Rhodes Scholar with loutish behaviour and eating too much junk food

and for clarity, we're no better here in that regard.
That's the beginning.

Next?

Time to get more curious about how to reach working class voters. How did bin din get so many more people out and to the polls? How and what did he do that was so successful that the camel couldn't do?

Serious question though...what kind of resume are we expecting a female Presidential candidate to have for her to not be a bad candidate?

Because from where I sit, both Kamala and Hillary had better resumes that Trump, Obama, Bush II, & Clinton before they become President. Hillary was deemed to serious, Kamala too silly. There doesn't appear to be an ideal personality type for a female candidate to have either. Why can't we just admit the obvious?
Kamala was a hawk a conservative neo liberal dem hawk who pretended to be progressive because that's the direction the wind was blowing. She has the personality of an NPC

He wasn't the incumbent. Oddly enough the one good thing trump did. Operation warp speed probably cost him.

Cozying up to Cheney at the end and talking about a republican on cabinet was the opposite of pretending to be progressive.

My niece was a first time voter this year. She voted for Kamala, but kept asking her mom who the hell is Cheney and why is there so much talk about this person this late in the game. Then she found out who she was, and she almost didn’t vote period.

The campaign in actuality closed horribly departing form their base and being fake centrists. Trump closed in line with his base with his chaotic message whatever the hell that meant

I do wish Dems were as tolerant & accepting of all Americans as conservatives are.

and they’d certainly never stoop to calling people names, or lobbing accusations at people.

yeah there’s plenty of psycho lefties that do all the above that you mentioned….but to compare it to the aggressive violent rhetoric on the right is ridiculous. They stormed the capital, tried to frame everyone on the left as pedo’s, etc etc….and much of it comes from the guy at the top of their ticket.

(also completely agree with you that it’s completely useless & hurting their cause whichever side it comes from)
I'm not comparing anything. My comments were mostly intended to be confined to this forum, where contrary viewpoints - even completely moderate ones! - are aggressively berated and accompanied by personal attacks.

Even if you want to take it in a more general way, in my personal experience, keeping both psycho lefties and psycho righties out of it, and just limiting it to the regular folk that I interact with daily, conservatives are pretty reserved and don't engage much in political conversation because liberals are so ready to attack and pass judgment. If you're not with them, you're twisted, not right in the head, an enemy. They actually get angry if you aren't a Biden or Kamala supporter. I really don't see any similar reaction when it comes to regular moderate or conservative types when liberals express their views. Liberals can speak freely in front of moderates and conservatives, but moderates and conservatives can only speak among each other.

Saying you hope certain female politicians you don’t like get raped over and over is absolutely not moderate though.
