OT: American Politics

Serious question though...what kind of resume are we expecting a female Presidential candidate to have for her to not be a bad candidate?

Because from where I sit, both Kamala and Hillary had better resumes that Trump, Obama, Bush II, & Clinton before they become President. Hillary was deemed to serious, Kamala too silly. There doesn't appear to be an ideal personality type for a female candidate to have either. Why can't we just admit the obvious?
And in a head to head unscripted battle of wits, she mopped the floor with Trump in the debate. Yeah... I agree that she wasn't a good candidate and I agree with a lot of the points being made about the dems flaws and the reasons for their demise. But it's hard for me to ignore the woman thing, especially with society's (especially with young males) recent push to excessive masculinity.

Not an excuse of course. It should have played a part in selecting the candidate.

Thats the primary difference between liberals and conservatives…..conservatives want policies that allow them to hold on to everything they’ve got, and pull the ladder up behind them. While Dems often

Maybe because you just think it’s obvious.

It fits your narrative that conservatives are mean and bad and apparently misogynistic and liberals are good. So maybe just comfort yourself with that.

I was optimistic that Kamala would go 6-1 in the swing states (like Joe), winning each one by a slim 0.5 to 1.5% margin.

Instead she went 0 for 7. By slim margins. No shock there.

The ground game didn’t make up for the fact that she could not articulate solutions to pressing problems like food prices and immigration. In fact, she was seen as part of the problem.

Trumps solutions are cartoonish (drill baby drill for inflation, round them up and build a wall for immigration) but they are something

You do you.

You'll find out soon enough that we were right about Trump.

But if I were you I'd be packing my shit and moving back to Canada. Or moving to Mexico. Or moving to literally anywhere else.
You can be as right about Trump as you want. But you're wrong about the US. You can bet against it, if you like. Not sure the world cares.

I'll stay here, you stay there, and let's just see if the next four years will be any different than any other presidential term.

Or you know…..paid attention to what they did while in office, or said on the campaign trail.

One party increases taxes on those who make $75k+ the other raises it on those who make $400k plus….one wants to improve the social safety net while the other views Atlas Shrugged as the bible, that people just need to pull themselves up by the bootstraps, and nobody has any unfair advantages over others, within society. One is pro-union one isn’t…

Like, wtf are you even talking about….

No one is claiming zero people on the right have empathy…..but it’s pretty black & white about which parties policies are more empathetic & looking to help others.

One candidate thought the truth matter the other knew it didn't.

This is the problem with the modern liberal - if you disagree with them on any level, you're torn down and they call you names and hit you with accusations of racism, misogyny, bigotry, stupidity, elitism, lack of sympathy, and so on. That's a big reason for this dem loss imo - this sort of thing made people want to go out there and bring about some change.

I do wish Dems were as tolerant & accepting of all Americans as conservatives are.

and they’d certainly never stoop to calling people names, or lobbing accusations at people.

yeah there’s plenty of psycho lefties that do all the above that you mentioned….but to compare it to the aggressive violent rhetoric on the right is ridiculous. They stormed the capital, tried to frame everyone on the left as pedo’s, etc etc….and much of it comes from the guy at the top of their ticket.

(also completely agree with you that it’s completely useless & hurting their cause whichever side it comes from)

Yeah Hillary was probably the most qualified candidate since like, I dunno….Nixon?

Gen X needs a slap but they are probably the ones
Facing the issues that tilted this election (inflation , etc).
