OT: American Politics

Don't salute me.

Now tell me what the Right has to do to get Women on board, oh and Minorities
Women voted 53% dem, closer to 50/50 than the men that voted 55% R. States control the emotional issues they care about like abortion that swing them left. R's won the most hispanic/puerto rican/latino counties in the country. I also do not think any groveling by R's could get blacks to vote for them more.

If i were the dems, i'd spend the next 4yrs spending all political capital fighting tooth and nail on the issues regarding elections and the rule of law, and just let maga do what it wants in terms of economic policy.

Let the voters feel the real impacts of that economic policy for once. But do everything you can to make sure there's still a way to ensure everyone's votes count next time they have a choice.
which makes it almost certain that they will not do this

So none. Good talk! And 2 % are not that much.

So no self reflection? Good. Good. Good.

In many ways this was a bizarre election. It wasn't super close, and R's likely end up with all 3 branches, so it's obviously easy to conclude it was a rounding defeat for liberalism.

But Fly Guy does also need to remember that a few hundred thousand votes in 3 states decided it, at a time when incumbents are losing everywhere, in a country that won't accept a female president, so let's not get sucked into the idea of overreacting by completely tearing down the Democratic Party. Obviously a thoughtful review should lead to changes in policy and tactics, but be careful about going too far with this unnecessarily.

Besides abortion and the appearance of lack of choice on that, genuinely asking what women have bad in the US? Mandated paid maternity leave would be nice.
