I agree that the US is not going to successfully annex us because we will literally go to war before we let that happen, and both countries will be destroyed in the process. Whether Trump would take it that far is uncertain, even if it’s improbable.

What is certain is that Trump will wage economic warfare against Canada in a futile attempt to get us to “beg” to join the US. That is undeniable, because it has already started.

Can Trump’s worst instincts be kept in check by people who know how stupid and unachievable his objectives are? Ummm… Maybe? Unfortunately, I don’t have confidence that the people who know better have his attention this time around.

Nobody thought he had the backbone but he could not in good conscience steal the election. I've no doubt Dotard wants to do it because he's just an arrogant asshole that can't hear the word no. The probability is low.

I agree here. It won't be just against Canada though. He'll do it to most nations to gain leverage for one reason or another.

Musk is using Trump as a useful idiot and likely thinks he's the de facto President. Eventually he'll realize, I hope anyway, that this annexation nonsense is a fool's errand.

Unfortunately we’ve noted steadily in this thread since 2020 how the MAGA movement pushed out every person who dared to push back last time. He has Congress and SCOTUS and virtually no people left anywhere with integrity.
