More attention should be paid to the fact that the US never really abolished slavery.

Racist cops and racist judges disproportionately arresting black people and giving them disproportionately long sentences in privately-owned prisons that force them to work for almost no pay (most of which goes directly back into the pockets of the prison owners via the “company store” that is prison commissaries) is flat-out just slavery with extra steps.

Not to mention that the owners of these private prisons bribe politicians, judges & cops to create the “tough on crime” laws and enforcement that provides them with their slave labour.

Watching this weirdo Russian great power chauvinism die a painful death is going to be wonderful.

Nothing about them is a great power. Over rated military, dogshit economy, with a Muscovy culture at it's core that barely radiates a few hundred km beyond it's epicentre. It's one defining feature of power has been an incredible willingness to devalue the lives of it's people and throw them into the wood chipper whenever the central authority has deemed it necessary.
