Does Greece have too much government? Sure does
Does Greece have a shitty culture when it comes to work, that has been fed by too much government? Sure does

However, with all of that said...would they be in the shape that they're in if part of that government actually did it's ****ing job and collected taxes? No, not even close. That is an absence of government, and that is the root of the current fiscal problem. Tax evasion has become the national sport.

Now, tell me more about how that resembles Ontario.

The original post was...that Greece represents what happens to a even a Western country where debt/deficit goes beyond the means/ability to pay for it. A LESSON.

Your came back that it's their fault and an isolated incident. Then I brought up that Ontario, a very rich area is also amassing debt/deficit. It's on the same scale but a different ability to pay for it. Which I can argue that it's a matter of degree and time, not outcome.

Further, your 'absence of government" makes no sense. If you cryptically intend it to be the "absence of good government", it would make sense.

Nevertheless, my statement still stands. Greece is a very real, live lesson. Dismissing it as isolated and irrelevant is a mistake.

It's a tiny beach resort with 0.15% of the world's population that has depended on the economic kindness of foreign countries for over 2000 years.
