OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Seriously... I hate this fear mongering shit. It sucks and it's terrible, but (for now, at least) this is entirely temporary.

NO WAY. I'm never going to need my teeth cleaned, get a haircut or plan a 3 week vacation. Spending money on anything but basic necessities is out of my life forever. From now on (and forever) all my money will be going to food, internet, and 3X ETFS.

I mean do you want it to not be reported?

Phrasing. It's all about phrasing. Report on it, but add context. And not "6 years of job gains in a week will be wiped out." That's dishonest media. One may say, fake news.

Maybe most of the jobs added over those years were....easily disposable?

You know that's not true. Sectors like tourism, air travel, dining, fitness, cosmetic services, dental ,etc are not going to vanish forever.

Trump has only been Prez for 3 of those 6 years. America (under Obama and Trump) has done a good job at creating full employment. The issue has been paltry wage gains thus far.

Who cares who's in charge?

You're want to ignore 950k jobless claims because in your opinion those are temporary. But you're kinda assuming your conclusion.

They take in more oxygen than most is what I read. Their lungs require it when working out, practicing or performing.

Do you talk to anyone outside of this forumice bubble? I know at about 20 people who filed for EI this week (Chefs, waiters, tv producers, camera operators, concert facilitators, etc). None of their employers have closed up shop, nor is it part of their immediate plans to do so.

I'm not mad at the wrong thing...I'm not mad at all but social distancing has a cost. I'm optimistic we can ride it out.

Yeah this is a weird take from zeke. A bit of a reach. Lot of things to yell at Trump about. Let's stay focused and pick correct things.

Yeah I do. And there are in fact many employers that are quite scared they'll have to close up shop.

Those are canadian numbers.

950k in a week.

It's a lot.
Oh for some reason I assumed American. I can't read. Fair enough. This isn't a Trump attack.

But yeah, of course it's a lot. It's a pandemic that has caused a fuckton of shit to be shut down. You typically don't need employees when businesses are shut down.
