OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Yeah antivaxxers are feasting on this right now and throwing parades over them being wrong about vaccines blocking infection adequately (they did an ok job at one point 1-3 months after being vaccinated, but they wane and viruses mutate and things change).

Meanwhile they're still the ones dying since the vaccines do a great job keeping you from getting really sick. Which is what the message needed to be from the start. Whether it's from blocking infection or not, the vaccines stop people from getting really sick at hilarious rates. We're talking 70+% effectiveness if infected vs unvaxxed. Find another medical intervention with that effectiveness on any illness. It's a short list.

As for Brad Richards... Dude seems off since he retired with his conspiracy theories and loony takes. Either he feels comfortable to open up more or his concussion issues led to CTE and he's now all fucked up. I vote on the latter.

Good ol' Eastern Canadian Newfie turning qanon delusional psychopath conveniently after he has a concussion-filled NHL career (particularly in his latter years) strikes me as very suspicious! But you're probably right.

Brad Richards sure tweets some thought-provoking content. It's over folks, the transfer to totalitarianism was completed Sept. 29 at Golf Australia.

For 4 days, until patriots fought back against this tyranny.

Lost his fucking mind. I swear to god he used to be a wholesome Newfie. But maybe that was just a cover. We'll investigate more at 11.

Unfortunately it's not just a few loons who can't understand even the most basic facts, or who may have a serious case of CTE.

There are millions of these people.

For your own mental health I wouldn't go seeking them out. Stick with the high level facts and move on. Especially in the US, it's a cesspool.

Yeah, I generally avoid. Once in a while I venture over to see what they're saying, and always end up regretting it.

There are still more people that can figure out basic facts than those who can't ... and they are thinning their own numbers with this idiocy.

Not sure I get this tbh, especially in a country that's 60% vaxxed.

Sounds like it's for asymptomatic people. Basically everything happens quickly. I wonder if it's a sneaky play for people to be willing to take a 5 day isolation, so that people don't think it's a fireable offense to test positive.

Kinda feels like jumping the gun a bit to make the guidance that someone who tests positive can return to work at say, a long term care home 5 days later, even asymptomatic, but obviously they have a lot more data than me.
