The CDC vs Altair. Who has a worse track record?
Go.
Yeah a lot of people want scientists to outright say "omicron is a common cold" but that's not quite how science works unfortunately. I get it tho. We all like good news!
Nice thread here on the state of London from a data guy (not science). Lots of solid indicators.
(plus altered dna and a microchip)Meanwhile with a vaccine all you're left with is an immune response after 1-2 months. Safest product in medicine. Easily the best ROI.
Oh you mean the data guys. Which part is the issue? His analysis isn't that deep. Just showing trends based on actual data. There's no model there really. One of the least controversial threads ever that simply shows basic data (and nothing complex or deep). I know you hate twitter guys perhaps because they sometimes say true things that you don't like hearing, but damn some deserve a chance! I promise they're not all evil and chasing fame! Some are actually quite good at that data/virology thing!Nope. Lots just not deviate from their models. This ward guy is one of them. His posts had all sorts of assumptions baked into them which may (or may not) have had predictive power for prior variants / waves.
Damn, this variant's gotta mean business if it's already hired a CEO?I didn't realize the Delta CEO asked the CDC to reduce it from 10 to 5.
Not the best look.
Caught the 'vid peeps. Triple vaxxed and all. Thankfully just fatigue, runny nose, and congestion at this point.
Damn, this variant's gotta mean business if it's already hired a CEO?
Thread of the year
The plan is clearly "let it rip and hope for the best." And we may end up avoiding the worst outcomes, but "hope" is never a very good strategy. We might as well just kept full capacity. Cutting capacity in half is just theater. It makes little difference.Also...10k in a building to watch the raptors tonight during record cases that are about to cause a school shutdown is peak Ford, no?
